Fucking creepy & fucking magic. Maison Margiela slays with bird like military silhouettes.

The bird is born, fresh out of the shelled home & ready to take it’s steps towards flight – & flight may come sooner than later.

John Galliano’s vision that has pushed & pushed & pushed label Maison Margiela to the brink of pure fashion genius time & time again -has done it by creating a feathered collection.

The pieces were truly remarkable. The tailored jackets & ensembles that were lined with feathers. The bald caps that looked latex & the the western booties added this bird in the desert being born kind of feel. I couldn’t help but keep thinking about a newly hatched bird as the theme of this collection. Whether it was or not it was the charecter that I had in my mind.

Also, the cohesiveness made this collection that much stronger & impactful. The collection seemed to also have a utilitarian mood as there were a lot of raincoat, trenches & pea coats. All in beige tones & shades. Feathers ,again, made a huge statement as we have seen in more than two other shows from other designer. & transparent fabrics used to render rain coats / trenches.

What I really appreciated from this collection was the deconstructed -reconstructed look that the outerwear gave. Another moment for deconstruction as opposed to distressed. Making me believe even more that deconstruction is the new take on distressed. Could it be that this new or reinvented form of classic pieces that we have seen through this season & last be the new form that’ll take shape as the new classes? I kind hope because I’m really into it.

This collection was odd & slightly creepy in the romantic military fashionista kind of way. All & all I really liked it & thought it ran well & cohesivnely.
